Claude Gets Live Dashboards and Editable Animations With New Anthropic Tools

Anthropic has launched Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion in beta, adding two new creation tools that turn company data into live visual dashboards and convert reports or charts into editable animations. Dashboards is available on paid Claude plans, while Motion is limited to Team and Enterprise customers.

Claude Dashboards is designed for quick data exploration. Users can connect Claude to sources including BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, Salesforce, Amazon Redshift and ClickHouse, then ask questions in natural language rather than writing SQL themselves.

Claude retrieves the relevant data, builds a visual dashboard and keeps it updated as the underlying information changes. The feature is aimed at exploratory analysis rather than replacing dedicated business-intelligence software.

Users can inspect the query behind any displayed metric, giving them a way to trace how Claude produced a number rather than treating the result as a black box.

When a question requires deeper analysis, users can move the work into tools such as Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel and Sigma. Support for Looker and Tableau is planned for later.

Claude Motion handles a different kind of output. Instead of generating conventional video footage, it creates code-based animations built from text, charts, shapes and images.

A user could, for example, take a quarterly report or a chart from a presentation and ask Claude to turn it into a short animated explainer. The resulting words, figures and timing remain editable after generation.

Once the animation is finished, users can export it as an MP4 or continue working with it in tools including Adobe, Canva, Runway and Luma AI.

Anthropic is positioning Motion as a way to make static information more dynamic without locking users into a finished render. Because the output remains editable, users can revise the composition before exporting it.

The company also used the release to move Claude Docs, Slides and Design out of beta. Those tools are now available across all Claude plans, including Free.

Anthropic said more than 45 million documents have been created with those existing tools. That figure applies to Docs, Slides and Design, not to the newly launched Dashboards or Motion features.

Claude Design is also scheduled to move into the main Claude app by December 14, with Anthropic providing a migration path for existing users.

The update expands Claude beyond text generation into more interactive workplace output. Dashboards gives users a faster route from a business question to a live visual answer, while Motion turns existing information into editable animated presentations rather than static slides.
