Meta is testing a new AI-powered storytelling app called StoryKit that generates personalized children's storybooks from user prompts, photos, and selected life lessons. The company confirmed it is piloting the app in select countries after it was discovered in Apple's App Store, with availability currently limited to Mexico.
StoryKit allows parents to create custom storybooks by uploading a photo of a favorite toy or person to serve as a character, choosing a setting such as an enchanted forest or distant galaxy, and selecting a lesson centered on values like kindness, courage, or empathy. The app then generates a picture book complete with illustrations, narration, an original music score, audiobook and read-aloud modes, and a printable PDF. According to the App Store description, users "don't need to write a single word."
